Michael Glukhovsky
Before RethinkDB, Michael was a partner at Remystify Hosting, and founded and ran Computers for Children—a computer refurbishing program for financially disadvantaged students. He has worked as an intern on collaboration and web services at Hewlett-Packard, and on emerging web technologies at IBM Webahead Development.
At Stony Brook University, he is pursuing a B.S in Computer Science with a specialization in human-computer interaction. He is interested in cognitive science, interaction design, and linguistics. Michael is on leave from the B.S. program at Stony Brook, working full-time on RethinkDB.
Slava Akhmechet
Slava has worked as a consultant for infrastructure software, consumer web, and financial companies while getting his B.S. degree in Computer Science. After graduating, he has worked for three years as a software engineer in the financial industry. He is now on leave from a Ph.D. program in Computer Science at Stony Brook University, working full time on RethinkDB.
He is interested in high level programming languages, compilers, data storage systems, thai boxing, and software start-ups. In his (very limited) spare time he maintains a blog at www.defmacro.org.
